With immense pride, we announce that our Executive Director and founder of The Latina Center, Miriam Wong, has been honored with the prestigious 2025 Woman of the Year Award, presented by Congressman John Garamendi.
This recognition celebrates more than 25 years of dedicated service to the Latino community of the Bay Area, leading comprehensive support programs that have transformed thousands of lives.
During the twelfth annual ceremony, 54 visionary women from California’s 8th Congressional District were honored for their extraordinary impact on their communities.
As Congressman Garamendi stated, “These women are the backbone of our community… their commitment and passion for service deserve this recognition.”
This honor not only celebrates the leadership of our Executive Director, Miriam Wong, but also the collective work of our entire organization and the transformative power of our Latino community.
For her and for our entire organization, this recognition represents a renewed commitment: to continue growing every day in our community support, expanding our programs, and strengthening the service we provide to those who need it most.
Her contributions will be permanently recorded in the Congressional Record in Washington, D.C.
Thank you for inspiring us every day to continue building a more equitable future for our community!
