
Dr. Pastore joined The Latina Center’s board of directors in 2019 after learning about the program’s impact on the local community over the past two decades. Having lived in San Pablo, California, for several years, she brings firsthand understanding of the community. She is also an alumna of John F. Kennedy High School and Contra Costa College, experiences that deepened her appreciation for how local programs support and nurture the Latino community.
Dr. Pastore earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University and went on to receive her doctorate in endocrinology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She continued her scientific work at UCSF, where she studied the role of hormones in fatty liver disease. She currently serves as a senior medical science liaison, supporting educational activities in neurological rare diseases.
Throughout her career, Dr. Pastore has dedicated her time and volunteer service to educating the community, mentoring students, and coaching professionals. She believes that anyone can achieve great things and that personal and professional goals are best reached through community support.
Dr. Pastore lives with her husband, their dog, Peter, and their two cats, Rex and Echo. In her free time, she enjoys teaching weight training, cycling, kickboxing, and yoga/Pilate classes at gyms throughout the East Bay.
